The Best Health Purchases I Made In 2025

high performance journal Dec 09, 2025

The High Performance Journal - December 9th, 2025

Every year, I try a bunch of health products, gadgets, and systems. Most of them end up collecting dust or get donated. But a handful of them actually change how I feel, how I move, how I sleep, and how well I stay on track.

So in today's newsletter, I want to share with you the best purchases I made in 2025.

Each one either saved me time, improved my routines, or positively changed my health in some meaningful way.

You ready? Let's go 🔥

The Best Health Purchases I Made In 2025

#1 - Reverse Osmosis Water Filter With Re-mineralizer

This was probably the most important purchase I made this year.

We drink water every day, and clean water makes a massive difference in our energy, digestion, and skin.

Reverse osmosis removes microplastics, heavy metals, PFAS, chlorine, fluoride, and hundreds of contaminants.

Now I had to make sure I added a re-mineralizer to my RO system because it adds back essential minerals like magnesium, calcium, and trace electrolytes, so the water does not taste “flat.”

Most people never think about the quality of their water, yet it is the thing they consume the most. Upgrading your water is one of the highest leverage moves you can make for your long-term health.

What I use: At my home, we use the Water Drop Reverse Osmosis Filtration system and purchased their re-mineralizer.

#2 - Home Air Purifier

Indoor air pollution is a silent killer and is often worse than outdoor air.

Dust, microplastics, pet dander, mold spores, and chemical fumes all build up. The Jasper Air Filter pulls these particles out of the air and creates a clean environment for your lungs, brain, and sleep.

I keep one in my bedroom and one in my office. Just knowing that you are breathing in high-quality air is a massive relief.

What I use: Jaspr Air Purifier

#3 - Brain.fm

This is the closest thing to a “focus button” I have found. Brain.fm uses scientifically engineered sound patterns that help your brain enter deep focus, calm, or sleep within minutes.

I use it to write, plan my week, or get into flow for creative work (like this newsletter).

If you are someone who is easily distracted or who struggles with attention switching, this is worth testing. It helps you get more done in less time without stimulants.

I'm good friends with the founder, Dan (great name btw), and he's given us a month free of Brain.fm at the link below:

#4 - Water Flosser

I used to think flossing was about my dentist not yelling at me.

I did not realize how much gum health affects your whole body, especially inflammation and heart health.

The crazy thing when I started using the water flosser was seeing all these food particles and debris leaving my mouth. That's not even counting the stuff you can't see. Yikes.

That said, while it was horrifying, it was also oddly satisfying.

Gum inflammation is linked to heart disease, blood sugar problems, and even cognitive decline.

Healthy gums are a sign of a healthy body. A few minutes a day pays off for decades.

What I use: Sonicare Water Flosser

#5 - Daylight Tablet

The Daylight Tablet is a screen that does not emit blue light. It feels like digital paper and lets me work, read, outline ideas, and plan my day without overstimulating my brain.

It has also become a "healthy" tablet I give my daughter to use for spelling games.

Traditional screens blast blue light directly into your eyes, which keeps your body in alert mode and makes sleep harder. They also contribute to eye strain, headaches, and that wired-but-exhausted feeling at night.

The Daylight Tablet eliminates that. I use it for reading, scrolling, and anything that requires clarity. It helps me stay focused without frying my nervous system.

If you want better sleep and less screen anxiety, this is one of the easiest upgrades you can make.

#6 - Vietnamese Rice Wraps

This is my secret hack from Vietnam. These rice wraps are light, gluten-free, higher satiety, and lower calorie than tortillas.

It's also way easier on digestion. You can fill them with lean proteins, veggies, herbs, or even leftover salmon and avocado.

For anyone trying to eat high-protein meals without feeling bloated or stuffed, rice wraps are perfect.

What I use: Bánh tráng Rice Paper

#7 - Veggie Chopper

This one might sound basic, but hear me out. The veggie chopper increased my vegetable intake more than any supplement or habit trick.

Why? Because it removed friction. When veggies are chopped, they get eaten. When they are not, they go bad in the fridge.

It saves time, keeps your meals interesting, and makes eating vegetables easy and fun.

What I'm using: Fullstar Vegetable Chopper

#8 - Non-Toxic Air Fryer

I'm a sucker for fried foods. Unfortunately, they're bad for our health. So enter the air fryer.

But the unfortunate part about air fryers is that 99% of the brands out there use Teflon. When heated, Teflon can lead to chemicals entering your food.

A non-toxic air fryer (see link below) gives you the crispiness of deep frying without the oils and without the toxic coatings found on other models.

The great part is it's easy to use. I cook steaks, chicken fingers, chicken nuggets, and even toast my bread in them.

What I'm using: The Wonder Oven Pro

#9 - Ninja Creami

The Ninja Creami turned my diet from “sustainable” to “ridiculously enjoyable.”

You can make high-protein ice cream using milk and whey protein. It tastes like dessert, hits your protein goals, and kills cravings at night.

It gives you a healthy replacement that actually feels indulgent.

My friend Zach has a recipe book containing 22 ice cream recipes that you can get for free here.

#10 - Cotton Underwear

One of the biggest changes in 2025 was switching to cotton underwear.

Synthetic fabrics trap heat and moisture, and can leech BPA and microplastics on your private parts.

Cotton is breathable, soft, and keeps everything dry, so your skin stays healthy and your body stays comfortable throughout the day.

I wear it for training, travel, and everyday life because it just feels better and keeps things… balanced.

What I use: Ryker Merino Wool underwear

#11 - Black Stickers For Bedroom Lights

Something you may not know is that even the tiniest bit of light exposure can affect your health in a negative way.

Even the lights that you see on your outlets and detectors have been shown to disrupt melatonin and keep your brain from entering deep sleep.

Blackout stickers take five seconds to install and remove all visual noise from your bedroom.

Combine this with a dark room and cool temperature, and you sleep like a baby.

What I use: Tiny black dot stickers

#12 - Walking Pad

For every single person who has a desk job or sits for long periods, this is an absolute game-changer.

I previously got a treadmill desk, but something I didn't like about it was that there was no incline. An incline can simulate outdoor walking conditions (and burn more calories).

Now, the drawback of getting an under-the-desk treadmill with an incline is that it's not as foldable as a normal, under-the-desk treadmill that is flat. It is what it is.

There is a massive difference in my brain, mood, and stress levels when I use my under-the-desk treadmill and when I don't. Highly recommend for desk workers.

What I use: Urevo Walking Pad w/ Incline

Honorable Mentions:

  • Pedometer
  • Written journal
  • Peluva toe shoes
  • Aeropress glass coffee maker
  • Unbound merino wool clothing
  • Create a Momentous creatine powder

The Final Word

What surprised me this year is that none of these purchases were flashy or complicated.

They were simple upgrades to my environment that made healthy choices easier and unhealthy choices harder.

They also make a great gift for health-conscious people in your life 😁

Hope you enjoyed this, and see you on the next one!

Onward and upward. 🚀

- Dan
