The year is 1969 and Bruce Lee is working out in the gym. He puts 135 pounds on a bar and starts knocking out a few Good Mornings before doing the rest of his workout.

On the 8th rep, he hears a POP in his lower back and drops the weight in agonizing pain.

He didn't realize it at the time but he damaged his 4th sacral nerve which leaves him bedridden for 6 months.

Discouraged, angry, and sad Bruce stews in his hospital bed, smoking marijuana to numb his pain while reading books from his extensive library.

One of the books he reads is from Napoleon Hill called, "Think and Grow Rich".

It’s during this time he writes his…

“Definite Chief Aim.”

Now imagine Bruce Lee writing this out furiously...

“I, Bruce Lee, will be the first highest-paid Oriental superstar in the United States. In return, I will give the most exciting performances and render the best of quality in the capacity of an actor. Starting 1970 I will achieve world fame and from then onward till the end of 1980 I will have in my possession $10,000,000. I will live the way I please and achieve inner harmony and happiness.”

Signed Bruce Lee

Shortly after, at the young age of thirty-two, just one month short of the release of “Enter The Dragon” (the film that would go on to make him a global icon) Bruce Lee passes away.

At the time of his passing, he was the highest-paid “Oriental” superstar in the United States with an estimated net worth of $10 million.

Now the reason I'm writing this to you is a lesson I learned early in life:

Your brain loves having a direction. Give yourself that direction or it will be created for you.

I hope in 2024 and beyond you become intentional with your life and point it towards the things you truly want with no limitation.

That being said...

Here Is Your 4 Minute Friday:

1. Avoid This Toxic Ingredient In Beer And Wine

It seems like alcohol is getting a bad rap nowadays and it just keeps getting worse.

A new report came out that has linked most beers and wines to an ingredient called Glyphosate.

Glyphosate is an ingredient found in herbicides and pesticides.

Short-term exposure is not considered to be harmful. Yet, long-term exposure has been linked to cancer, nervous system damage, liver & kidney damage, reproductive developmental issues, and risk of pregnancy & children.

Unfortunately, the report found glyphosate was found in most sources of beer & wine.

The volume of glyphosate applied to crops has increased by 100x since the late 1970s.

How do we avoid glyphosate?

  1. Look for "glyphosate residue free" label
  2. Review a list of glyphosate-free products
  3. Buy organic whenever possible
  4. Avoid using weed killer on produce or your grass

One thing I should mention is that there is a need for more data.

Over the last 20 years, researchers have started to take a closer look at the impact of glyphosate toxicity and have come up with conflicting evidence.

For now, be cautious with your selection of food and alcohol choices.

2. A Supplement Known As "Liquid Gold" For Your Gut

The gut plays a central role in nutrient digestion, absorption, and waste elimination, ensuring our body receives everything it needs for daily functioning, while also preventing toxins, pathogens, and other harmful antigens from entering.

Supporting our gut-immune axis is crucial for improving our health and longevity.

This is where colostrum comes into play. Colostrum, often referred to as "liquid gold," is a milky fluid released by mammals shortly after giving birth, before breast milk production begins.

Colostrum has been proven to strengthen and support our gut-immune axis by improving digestion and nutrient absorption while also acting as a barrier against toxins.

Bovine colostrum, derived from cows, shares similarities with human colostrum, as it is rich in vitamins, minerals, fats, carbohydrates, disease-fighting proteins, growth hormones, and digestive enzymes.

While obtaining colostrum directly from cows may not be practical, there are supplement options available but I cannot provide any as I have not yet tested them.

The supplements seem safe enough but test at your own risk.

3. This Is What Happens To Your Body If You Get 5 Hours Of Sleep

Sleeping 5 hours instead of 7.5 can have some crazy effects on your body.

A study was done that had a group of individuals spend 2 weeks in a sleep laboratory. One group could sleep for a full night while the other was allowed only 5.5 hours in bed.

Both groups were provided with a diet that had the same calories and macros to get them in an energy deficit.

What they found was that the sleep-deprived group had a 50% worse reduction in fat and a 50% loss of muscle.

Sleep is the lead domino where all good things (both physical and mental) come from.

Do what you can to prioritize a good night's sleep every night or suffer the consequences.

Client Of The Week - Frank, Founder

Frank is a founder who wanted to lose the belly, improve his eating habits, and boost his energy levels.

In 12 weeks he dropped 18.8 lbs of fat while gaining 3 lbs of lean mass. Our plan was to strength train 3x a week in the gym while setting up his meals to come to him automatically.

We used regular lunchtime walks to reset his days and improved his sleeping habits with blue light blockers and attuning his body to his circadian rhythms.

In his words, this was the most confident he's ever been in his body and loved how simple the process was.

One Quote To Finish Your Week Strong

"If you always put limits on what you can do, physical or anything else, it'll spread over into the rest of your life.

It'll spread over into your work, into your mortality, into your entire being. There are no limits. There are plateaus, but you must not stay there, you must go beyond them. If it kills you, it kills you."

- Bruce Lee

What are some limitations you're putting on yourself right now?

Do you think it's impossible to get in shape? Or that you can't find a partner?

Has anyone else accomplished this that was less intelligent than you?

If so, keep trying, and don't give up. There's a solution for every situation. You just gotta find it.
