The other day, I was feeling a little bit grumpy.
I was a little bit shorter with my answers and just feeling like I was being a tad more irritated.
Doing some introspection, I asked myself, "Hmm, why exactly do I feel this way?"
Then I realized what the issue was..
Due to unforeseen circumstances, I went to sleep a little bit later and woke up earlier than I usually do.
I didn't get my normal hours of sleep, and you could say that I was slightly sleep deprived.
Which leads me to ask you this: How many times have we found ourselves in a bad mood as a result of just not getting enough sleep?
Probably more times than not.
Now, if you don't mind me, I'm going to get some work done and take a little 15-minute nap.

1. The Healthiest Tea On The Planet
It looks like the Japanese know something that we don't.
Researchers followed 280 men for 20+ years who drank green tea every single day, and the results were crazy.
- Better mental health: Tea drinkers showed lower depression scores and better sleep quality.
- Better hormones: Long-term green tea consumption boosts testosterone levels while keeping other hormones stable.
- Brain protection: MRI scans revealed that tea drinkers had more gray matter in their brains linked to improved memory and aging.
- Healthier weight and inflammation: On average, tea drinkers had lower BMI and reduced inflammation across the board.
They found that green tea's anti-inflammatory compounds created a cascade effect leading to less inflammation and better sleep.
These had a downstream effect on improving mood while the antioxidants protected brain tissue from age-related decline.
One of the simplest and cheapest investments for long-term brain and mental health might be drinking one cup of green tea a day.
2. How To Remove Microplastics From Your Drinking Water
Recently, I took a trip to Hawaii and walked along the beach. Unfortunately, as I walked the beach, I found big and small pieces of plastic all along the shoreline.
That said, microplastics are a BIG problem, and we're finding that they are almost everywhere.
One study wanted to find out methods to remove these tiny plastics from our drinking environment, and the one that worked best was boiling water.
They found that when water is boiled, especially if it's hard water (meaning that it has a lot of minerals like calcium), more than 80% of these plastics can be removed.
Here’s how it works:
When water boils, minerals like calcium carbonate form solid bits called “incrustants.” These tiny particles stick to the solids and get trapped inside them through a process called “coprecipitation.”
After boiling, these solids with the plastics inside settle at the bottom or can be filtered out, so the water you drink has fewer plastics in it.
