If You Want To Drop 30 Pounds By Christmas, Copy This:

Imagine this.
It's Christmas time. While everyone else is around you complaining about how much weight they've gained, they look at you and say,
"Hey, you're looking pretty good. What have you been doing?"
Little do they know that you read this newsletter 16 weeks ago, and it set you up to be in your best shape before Christmas while everyone else was waiting for New Year's to start.
Now, if you came to me as a client and said, "Dan, I want to lose 30 lbs. by Christmas, what do I do?" these are exactly the 3 things I would do. I used them to get my body to 12% body fat at 46:
And it's not just me either. Here's a weight graph from one of the many clients we coach through this process. Brad lost close to 30 pounds and 60% of his visceral fat in 12 short weeks:
The 3 things it comes down to are:
- Metabolic flexibility
- Muscle and strength
- Recovery systems
You ready? Let's go 🔥
1. Build a Metabolically Flexible Body
Now everyone and their mama knows weight loss is about calories in and calories out, but the part most people miss is building a body that responds to energy in the right way.
This is where insulin resistance and insulin sensitivity come in. When your body is metabolically flexible, it knows how to use the fuel you give it efficiently. When it's not, you end up fighting your own biology.
Here's what we focus on with every client:
Hit the fat loss trifecta. There are three important numbers to hit if you're trying to lose 30 lbs. or more off your body, and they are: calories, protein, and fiber. We want the right amount of calories. If someone's losing 30 lbs. a day, that's a lot of fat.
- The right calories. Not too aggressive, not too passive. Enough to drive fat loss without tanking your energy or triggering a rebound.
- The right protein. Aim for 0.8 grams per pound of body weight. This is what protects your muscle while you're in a deficit.
- The right fiber. 25 to 38 grams a day. Making sure we're getting enough fiber will help us be in a deficit without feeling like we're dieting.
Eat the right foods. If someone is carrying a lot of weight, especially in their belly, we want to prioritize: Fatty fish, polyphenol intake, and fermented foods. A low-key benefit to eating these is that you get to improve your gut health, which assists in removing visceral fat.
Build the right meal timing. This means eating your meals within a set window of hours and creating consistency so your body knows exactly when food is coming. That predictability is a huge part of how your metabolism learns to work for you instead of against you.
One thing I'll be upfront about is that it takes about three to four months for your body to start developing metabolic flexibility. You want to give yourself at least a full year of practicing these eating behaviors to lock it in permanently.
This isn't a 12-week fix. It's a 12-week launch into a system that keeps working.
2. Train For Muscle and Strength
When someone is trying to lose weight, we use a low-volume, high-intensity strength training program.
Low volume means you're doing 2 sets per exercise. High intensity means you're training each major muscle group at least 2x per week and taking every set as close to failure as possible. Your only job in the gym is to add more weight or to add more reps
I've been doing this workout for over a year, and we've been employing it with our clients. It's one of the best ways to gain muscle while getting you inside and outside the gym in less than 40 minutes.
We also want to match your training to your body type, which I broke down in this YouTube video.
Your #1 goal when it comes to training is NOT to burn fat in the gym, but to build a body that can burn fat in your sleep.
Combined with the protein targets I mentioned above, this is how you lose fat while keeping your muscle (and metabolism) underneath it.
3. Set Up Recovery and Sleep Systems
This is the part most people skip, and it's the part that makes everything else work.
For recovery, we want 7,000 to 10,000 steps per day. A lot of people think this is just about burning extra calories. It's not. Your body actually recovers faster when it's lightly active than when it's sitting on the couch.
Walking also does an incredible job of lowering stress, which is one of the biggest blockers of fat loss that nobody talks about.
For sleep, focus on this sequence: get the right number of hours and keep the same sleep and wake times every day. Then we fix your environment so it's set up for you to hit the pillow and fall asleep without a fight.
Last, setting up the right nighttime routine sends signals to your body that train it to shut down on schedule.
Why September and Not January?
Here's the thing most people won't tell you.
While everybody else is waiting for the new year to get started, the window from September to December is one of the most powerful periods of the year for transformation, and almost no one takes advantage of it.
If you start now, you won't just lose 30 lbs by Christmas. You'll hit the new year as a completely different person, already in motion, already building momentum, and ready to chase goals that are way bigger than weight loss.
While everyone else is waiting, you're gonna start building.
Onward and upward. 🚀
