Hey friend,

The other day, I saw a post from an entrepreneur that I respect, with which I respectfully disagree.

In short, they said that to achieve massive amounts of success, you need to miss the dance recitals, give up your hobbies, and subordinate everything to make it happen.

This is the biggest problem I see with success-minded entrepreneurs.

They over-index on things money can buy and under-index on things money can't.

You can't buy your daughter looking up in the stands, seeing you there, and being present for her biggest moment.

You can't buy the connection that you have with your partner when you guys go out on date night.

What is the point of creating success in your life if it pushes away the things that make life worth living?

I still have respect for this person, but I disagree with their take.

What about you?

That said...

Here is your 4 Minute Friday:

1. Stop Buying Supplements From Amazon Until You Read This

Amazon's supplement marketplace has a dirty secret that could be putting your health at risk.

A 2023 Michigan State study found that 7 in 10 consumers unknowingly bought counterfeit items from e-commerce platforms like Amazon and eBay.

The culprit is something called "Commingled Inventory".

When different sellers send the same product to Amazon warehouses, Amazon throws them all in the same bin. Authentic products from legitimate sources get mixed with counterfeits from bad actors.

So when you order a supplement, thinking that you're getting it from a trusted seller, Amazon ships whichever is closest, regardless of which seller it came from.

In 2024, Amazon seized over 15 million counterfeit products globally. The fake supplements contained things like heavy metals, undeclared pharmaceuticals, dangerous allergens, and sometimes even Viagra.

If you have to buy from Amazon, only purchase from the brand's official store. You can find this on a link on the website first. Also, look for third-party testing seals like NSF or USP, or Consumer Lab. Inspect everything when it arrives.

The best solution is to buy directly from the manufacturers. You don't have to deal with commingled inventory, there's no mystery about the origin, and most brands offer subscription pricing which beats Amazon.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it's better that you hear this now before buying something that could potentially affect your health.

2. How Your Waistline At Age 50 Predicts Your Brain Health At 70

If you want a healthy brain, don't have a fat belly.

A 22-year study following British civil service workers revealed how your choices in mid-life determined your brain health decades later.

Researchers tracked participants from 48 to 70, measuring diet quality and waist-to-hip ratio, then performed brain scans and cognitive tests.

People with better diet quality showed enhanced connectivity in the hippocampus (the brain's memory center), plus they had greater white matter integrity.

Those with the lower waist-to-hip ratios have better working memory, executive function, and overall cognitive performance.

People with higher hip-to-waist ratios were linked with two widespread decreases in white matter integrity and increased brain aging markers.

Damage from abdominal fat wasn't just a correlation, it showed the cause of cognitive decline through changes in brain connectivity.

The silver lining is the fact that participants who improved their diet also showed better brain connectivity, suggesting it's never too late to start.

Something that we have to realize is that food is like code that programs our bodies and brains.

It reminds me of the great TED Talk by Julia Rucklidge that showed us how nutrients impact our mental health:

Want a better brain by the time you hit 70? Eat a healthy diet and make sure that you keep your body composition healthy.

❤️ My Favourite Thing This Week

Speaking of supplements, I have stopped getting my creatine from Amazon, and I get it directly from these guys instead.

It's a company called Create, and they have the purest form of creatine on the planet.

Around 99% of the creatine you see on the shelves or on Amazon has been sourced from China.

Create sources their creatine from the purest source of creatine called CreaPure, which is made in Germany.

The cool thing is they have the best creatine gummies on the market.

I personally don't eat them, but I do use their powdered creatine every day. Lime is my favorite flavor.

Creatine is one of the safest, most effective research-backed supplements on the planet. I take it every day, and I suggest it for 99.9% of the people I work with to take it as well.

Since I know the owners, I've been able to get you a 30% discount.

Client Of The Week - Daniel, Business Owner

Dan is an entrepreneur who has struggled with his weight since starting his business. His goal was to lose the excess weight, drop the belly, and boost his energy levels to reach his full potential.

In one year, we've dropped 54 lbs and gotten him into his leanest body since college.

Our strategy was to lift weights using progressive overload to keep his metabolism high while losing weight. We ate a high-protein, nutrient-dense diet that fit his lifestyle and set some routines to fix his sleep habits.

The best part about it is he is committed to the plan, trusting the process, and he's reaping the rewards of his new body and life.
